We just had the greatest wedding and you were such a key part of the whole day that we can’t thank you enough for all you did and the incredible photos that came from it. What can we say. And I know you must get this every week but WOW! So, so so so so so so excited by the photos. Cannot wait to see more. The internet in this hotel (The Pig near Bath – bloody lovely) is terrible so we had to wait an age for the page to load but when it did – well, I have had to look at them about eight times. I am sure there is more than one award winner in there! And even Buddy is looking at the camera! Wonders will never cease. I started to write you an email this morning as a pre-thank you to even seeing the photos because having you there was so easy. You are without doubt professional, polite, funny, patient, creative and just an all round lovely guy. But now I see our photos I realise you are an even better photographer than I thought! And I thought you were brilliant! I actually like looking at the photos of me, which is a real novelty! The one of me in the sunglasses rushing up the church path is a particular favourite! We wanted to say a massive thank you for the wedding album, which arrived yesterday.  It is absolutely beautiful.  It’s strange; having seen the photos online and in low res on the drafting website it doesn’t prepare you in anyway for seeing them printed on the page.  They look brilliant.

I hadn’t realized some of the prints would be so big and so being able now to study them in detail and see people’s expressions in the background and all the little things we’ve missed has been like re-discovering them all over again.

You did such a great job and worked so hard, thank you very much indeed.  What a wonderful record of our ‘big day’.

Dear Jamie,

Just wanted to say thank you so much for coming to Tuscany to photograph our wedding. It was lovely to get to see you again and the pictures we’ve seen so far are absolutely stunning. We felt like you were an integral part to our day, but never intrusive, and all our guests were blown away by the lengths that you went to to capture the best shots, and of course by the results! Thank you also for the extra hours that you put in on the day due to the weather delay – we can only imagine how many shots you must have of our nieces dancing around the bedroom!!

It was really great to have you there for the night before too, especially meaning we didn’t need to worry about taking any photos ourselves.

We hope you enjoyed yourself and had a great rest of trip in Italy too. We came across these books in Florence on our honeymoon and thought the might make a nice addition to your coffee table. We would just like to say a huge thank you for being our wedding photographer. Your photos are simply spectacular.  It makes us so happy looking through them because they allow us to relive an incredible weekend.  Given that you were just a stones throw from us for such a long time, it was also a pleasure to have you around!  You just felt like an old friend. When we first saw your work about 4 years ago, we loved how natural they were, how you had captured what really happened rather than posed shots or worse, faked moments! We also loved the creativity in your compositions. After 3 years of working in the wedding industry ourselves, there was still no other photographer we considered for our wedding.   We even changed our date so that you could make it! Preparations with you were really easy.  You were direct about what we needed to know and gave some good tips on formal photos. During our wedding weekend, you worked professionally, quickly and incredibly hard to beautifully capture everyone and every moment that you could. I don’t think you even flinched when a welly was thrown at you! Your camera angles and modest, laid back personality meant it didn’t take long for our guests to get used to having you around either and after a while, we barely noticed you!  That made for some great relaxed shots of people at their best. We received our preview photos very quickly.  It was great to get a glimpse of what was to come and share them with guests while it was fresh in their memories.  Their feedback about your photos was brilliant. Seeing our full set of photos for the first time was quite overwhelming.  It bought back so many emotions from the day – we laughed and cried all over again.   I wasn’t sure how we would ever choose some for our album, so it was great to be able to ask you to make the first draft. It’s very hard to put into words what we love about your photos… but we’ll try! We love that they are of real moments, capturing the quirks and details that make people and relationships unique.  We love the raw emotion you capture, not just people smiling but pride, nerves, disbelief, triumph, love, joy, hope.  We like the element of surprise in your photos from unusual angles and varied techniques.  We love that some photos look so spectacular black and white; they really simplify your focus, they aren’t just black and white copies. Lastly, when we look at your albums for other people, we want to know what is happening at that moment.  When we look through our photos from you, we do know what was happening in that moment; they tell our story. Thank you again Jamie.  Our wedding was everything we hoped it would be, and you captured it so beautifully.

It is quite clear to see from the ridiculously goofy smile I had plastered all day on my face, what an amazing wedding we had. We smiled and laughed more than we ever have! When asked what was the best bit, it is extremely hard to answer, the church was tearful, the Venue at Pickwell Manor was unbeatable, the girls were fantastic. The food from ‘Guess Who’s coming to Dinner’ was immense, my dress was a dream, my bridesmaids were the best, our guests were our family and intimate friends… the list goes on. But thanks to 1 guy (and he did it all alone) we relive and feel every emotion from that day when we look at our photo’s (they even bring a tear to my eye, and for those that know me well, know this is hard)! We decided not to have a videographer, and felt regret leading up to the day, but we are so happy we didn’t! I hope you are well, time has passed so quickly and from your Facebook updates it looks as though you have had a busy time since our wedding on 01 March! This is just a short note to say thank-you so much for these incredible photo’s, and for getting them to us so quickly! I have spent the whole weekend glued to my iPad going through the photos again and again. Ian is away working remotely in Spain so hasn’t had the chance to view them as yet, but he is very much looking forward to doing so on his return. WOW! There are no words to describe how much we love them!! They are amazing! I’m so glad you managed to get some lovely shots of my mum despite her protests! We laughed at the one where she’s got her hand up covering her face – this is normally the only kind of shot any of us can get of her! We are also incredibly grateful that you stayed for the dance. These are some fantastic shots which really complete the coverage of the day and we were in stitches at the photos of Jimbob and Ben (the two who hijacked it!) I was very impressed at your photo skills during the conga – I remember you running backwards while taking photos and the results are fantastic. Tim joked about my excessive wedding planning and spreadsheets in his speech and it’s fair to say I drove him completely bonkers with my quest to find the perfect photographer. Of all the aspects of a wedding, the photography was the most important to me (after getting married to Tim of course! J) and I looked at a lot of different photographers. Your work stood out by a mile and the results have even exceeded our expectations. You have an amazing talent for capturing moments in such an artistic way and making the viewer feel like they are right there in the middle of it all. Well, we have had a very emotional weekend reliving our wedding day – the photos are amazing and have helped us to relive the whole day so perfectly.  We watched the short slideshow first, then watched the long one and then looked at some of them again and didn’t go to bed until quite late.   We then watched them all again with a friend on saturday who couldn’t make it and she felt like she had been there. There are a couple of pictures that I can’t look at without crying (in a good way!) AND FROM EMMA AGAIN! Jamie, I know this has turned into a bit of a Jamie Bott love in but thought I should let you know that my parents came over on Tues night and watched the slideshow with the brilliantly suggested glass (make that bottles) of wine and they were beside themselves. Solid tears for two and a half hours. They are so excited by them and my mum just relived the whole day. Your storytelling is superlative and joy radiates from every image. They were so nervous about the photography not being formal but now just cannot believe how right and brilliant they are. My father thinks you are a genius and I can see how proud he is of us finding such a great photographer to document the day and going with what we knew would capture our day and more. You have made the family so happy. Hope you had a good holiday (very well deserved after a summer of back to back weddings!). We are back in Blighty now and just wanted to write to say how brilliant the photos are. We were just quickly checking our emails out in Costa Rica to confirm the next place we were moving on to before we were planning to head out for the afternoon to go to a chocolate cafe – instead we ended up sitting in the little internet shack for two hours looking through all the photos (twice!).
